Baptist Hospitality House: Knobloch Family 2014
June 16 – July 28, 2014
We stayed here during my husband’s stem cell transplant. It was very comforting and refreshing to come back to a house/home versus a hotel. Our children were able to stay here also when they came to visit which was a relief. I didn’t have to get more “rooms”. We especially liked the big picture window because we could enjoy the squirrels and birds! Also loved the grill and porch out back — great to have visitors and cook meals on the grill so the smell wouldn’t bother my husband.
Thanks so much and may God bless this network and those who need it.
God Bless,
Evy’s/Gauthier House: Brown Family
Serenity House Network,
Wayne and I would like to thank you for the comforts of home that we had during our stay here in Rochester. Wayne had some pretty rough weeks after the transplant but at least he was comfortable at Evy’s House and the Gauthier House during the worst. This home away from home was the best. Also thank you to Greg for helping us move from Evy’s House to the Gauthier House. Thank you also to Jodie for her help, and to Deb for her kindness and help at the Gauthier House.
We couldn’t have had better people around us. We will let people know about this wonderful organization and people.
Sunny Place Cottage James Apt: Bezanis Family
Dear Serenity House Network,
Thank you so much for giving me and my mom a home. This house has been such a blessing to us. After staying here for a month, I can now call it my home away from home. When our family came to visit us, we felt like a real family at our own home. I cannot even begin to voice how grateful me and my mom are.
Thank you again for everything. We wish you the best of luck.
Love,
Johnston House Quincy Apt: Hecker Family
May 20 – July 15, 2014
The Quincy apartment was so clean and filled with games, books, puzzles on the shelves. The people at Serenity House Network are so friendly and nice to work with. Staying at the Johnston House (Quincy apartment) made my stem-cell transplant journey so much more bearable.
I would recommend Serenity House Network properties to all transplant patients staying in the Rochester area.
White River House Priscilla Apt: Grones Family
This place was so nice and quiet – not quite like home, but nice. I was in the hospital after my transplant for ten days. We had to go two times a day for the infection I had on my face: IVs at 8 am for two hours, then 8 pm for two more hours. It was exhausting, but it was always nice to come back here. This is so brightly decorated. That made it easier to take. While the rain was outside, the sun was inside.
Jack and I thank you for the hospitality.
Holly’s House Erin Apt: Nelson Family
I feel so blessed to have had the Holly’s House Erin apartment to recover in after my surgery. I was very stressed out about my surgery and recovery but the homey apartment and pieces of a home helped all go smoothly. Having a big recliner to relax in and a full kitchen to cook in really made things so much easier on myself and my wife. Everyone made us feel so welcome and we knew if we ever needed assistance, it was only a phone call away!
Lovely apartment, great location, lovely people, just a wonderful organization.
Thank you so much!
I agree so much with my husband. This has truly been a home-away-from-home. My husband had comforts of home for recovery and I had conveniences for preparing food and caretaking. We also enjoyed the location. Easy for groceries and best of all…great location for running and walking near Silver Lake. Nice for getting out for a bit.
Finally, thanks for your tremendous support, to include Welcome Bread and even a birthday pie!! We really enjoyed meeting the people of Serenity House Network. Keep doing what you do!!!
Gauthier House: Mayer Family 2014
Grandma, Grandpa, my husband Bill, and our two young children are leaving as a family. VERY grateful and humbled. Now more than ever, we realize that it takes a team of people to take care of and support a patient and their family.
Thankful for the support from family and friends, the comfort provided by Serenity House Network, and the care provided by the doctors, nurses, lab technicians, custodians, and receptionists … at Mayo and in Rochester.
Thank you to the family that owns this home — for allowing us to visit in their absence and for the work they are doing around the world.
Holly’s House Erin Apt: Knightly Family
Holly’s House Erin Apartment was wonderful. It was so great to have a home environment while here for serious medical issues. So much better than going back to a hotel room or motel room. Greg was great, so friendly and accommodating. He responded so quickly to needs and with a lovely smile.
The Great Harvest bread was magnificent. We will stop on the way out of town for more. What a wonderful welcome gift!
Thank you so very much for making our stay so comfortable!!
PS Thank you very much Alec and Milla for your thoughtful and generous contributions to our stay at Serenity House Network. You truly are “special kids” and are destined to become outstanding adults. Bless you now and in the future!
Gauthier House: Neff Family
May 15 – June 15, 2014
Dear Serenity House,
Teresa and I would like to thank you. The past several weeks have been pretty crazy and scary. Knowing there was a home to go to after my hospital stay was comforting. Being away from Iowa and finding a home away from home was a blessing and we will always be grateful for that.
Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!
P.S. Deb was AMAZING!
