Evy’s House 2016: A comfortable home for a stem cell transplant patient and family
My husband and I were blessed to have such a comfortable home to stay in during my stem cell transplant for non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Serenity House Network provided such a warm welcome and help as we got started in our process at Mayo. Being able to come back to this wonderful house and having room for our daughter and son-in-law to visit made us feel right at home.
Thank you for all you do in helping people through difficult medical times.
Sincerely,
Patrick Apt. 2016: Alternative housing to a hotel for a transplant patient
What a fantastic alternative to hospitalization, communal or hotel living. Staying in this home made my transplant less overwhelming. The trip each day to Mayo was very simple and quick. Although it was not home, it was the next thing to it. Very attentive and caring staff. Thank you,
Lottie Apt. 2016: A 7-week stay for a Mayo Clinic patient and family
During our 7-week stay here in Rochester, MN, Serenity House Network became our second home. Guests coming to stay while my husband was at home with our children thought the home was very nice.
God placed us in this home for a reason. We know God has been with us through this journey and He will continue to be by our side. He is our mighty physician!
May God bless all who enter this home!

James Apt. 2016: A safe, clean furnished apartment for a Mayo Clinic patient
Thank you so much to all the Serenity House Network staff, especially Greg & Jodie. God answered prayer by providing us with this safe, clean furnished apartment. We were glad our girls could come and stay with us as well in the “loft”.
We felt right at home here and enjoyed meeting everyone associated with SHN.
Thank you for your ministry and the blessing you are to families and the community. God is good all the time!
Red River House 2016: A peaceful home to heal for a Mayo PRC patient
Dear Heidi, Kevin, and Serenity House Network,
Thank you so much for your hospitality here at Red River House. The atmosphere is so peaceful and it has been a wonderful place to come home to after busy days at the Pain Rehabilitation Center. The apartment exceeded expectations and we are so grateful to Mayo for connecting us to SHN.

Doris Apt 2016: The Haro Family’s medical lodging experience
As the first resident of Annie’s House – Doris Apt, we enjoyed it very much. It was a comfortable place to live while my husband underwent a stem cell replacement for multiple myeloma. Jodie and Greg took care of any issues we had very quickly. Thank you Jodie and Greg! Also, a special thank you to Marvin who took care of a DVD connector issue.
Erin Apt. 2016: A short-term home for a Mayo patient and family
We sincerely appreciated having a “home” to stay in while participating in the Pain Management Program and Mayo. After a long day, we were grateful to recharge at home and prepare for the next day! Your kind gifts of Welcome Bread, a blanket from Project Linus, and Mayo parking pass were unexpected and much appreciated! It reflects your kind hospitality.
Doris and Cliffy Apt. 2016: A post-surgery short-term stay
Annie’s House was a home away from home for us. We were so comfortable after our surgeries. Serenity House Network took care of us nicely. We really enjoyed our time here. Thank you,
Erin Apt 2016: Medical lodging for a stem cell transplant patient and family
The Serenity House Network homes have been so great for Roger to have as his home away from home. It has made it so much easier for his recovery from his stem cell transplant. I tell everyone that asks where we have stayed during his treatment at Mayo that we stayed at Serenity House Network. I recommend them to anyone who needs long care stay.
The Downen Family appreciates the opportunity to stay at these apartments!
Tara’s Place 2016: A home for comfort and healing for a Mayo transplant patient
Some may call it a coincidence. Others might say they were “lucky”, it was an “accident”, or they “stumbled across” something.
I don’t believe in coincidences. I believe everything happens for a reason — good or bad — and people are placed in our lives at just the right moment.
The day before my husband, Tom, was scheduled to give me one of his kidneys (my 4th transplant in 13 years), we learned that the “furnished apartment” that we had rented for our recovery period truly did not meet the necessary transplant standards.
While Tom and I spent the entire day completing testing and meeting with doctors, my mom, Merle, and Tom’s brother, Matt, went into scramble mode. Thankfully Debbie, the concierge at Mayo, was able to help. She made many phone calls. Some to no avail. Others needed to check availability and call back. Nerves became more frayed as the time passed. It was the return call from Serenity House Network that brought peace to anxious hearts. Tara’s Place was available. We would meet Jodie and Greg at 5:00 pm to sign the lease and move in.
Our surgeries were the following day. Tom came through with flying colors. Mine took a little longer than planned, but by the wee hours of the next morning I was resting comfortably in ICU. Tom spent two nights and I was there for three. By Friday evening we were sharing a home-cooked meal around the table at Tara’s Place. My dad and sister even drove our daughters, Emily (13) and Samantha (5), down to see us. A few tears were shed during our grace that night. They were tears of relief, joy, and thanksgiving.
Our recoveries went better than anyone every anticipated. Tom was back to work two weeks after surgery. And, as I write this, my mom and I are finishing laundry, waiting to check out, and preparing for the five plus hours drive back to our homes. All of this only 18 days after transplant.
This home, Tara & Jay, Jodie & Greg along with the Serenity House Network folks have made the healing process one of comfort and love. You can feel this warmth envelope you while you are here.
There are no coincidences. God placed these people in our lives at just the right moments. He has blessed us with new friends, renewed health, and faithful hearts. It is all part of His plan. So even though it is hard to do, let go. Trust. Believe.
In peace,
