James Apt. 2016: An extended stay for a Mayo patient and family
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at Serenity House Network before, during and after Troy’s treatment. It was nice to have the privacy and cleanliness that is so vital to an impaired immune system. Your support has been a Godsend to us.
Evy’s House 2016: A fully furnished home for a Mayo patient receiving proton beam therapy
My dad has esophageal cancer and has gone through proton radiation and chemotherapy. This house has been a blessing for us. The best place to be outside of our own home. We will return to Rochester for the removal of his esophagus in September and pray that all goes well. Feeling blessed and thankful to have stayed in this great house. Sincerely,
Julianna Apt. 2016: Long-term housing for a stem cell transplant patient and family
My wife, Hilarie, has been here since mid-April. I’ve been here most of that time, but the caretaking has been shared with a broad array of family & friends.
*****
It is hard to imagine finding a more perfect home away from home while I went through an allogenic stem cell transplant (donor with no relations). It is not just the house itself that we loved, but more importantly Greg & Jodie and the rest of the staff. They were all so wonderful and understanding of our circumstances which seemed to change daily.
So now I am off to my other home, with 100% donor stem cells in my bone marrow.
I wish each of you staying here health & healing,
Michael Apt. 2016: Lodging for a stem cell transplant patient and family
We were so fortunate to be able to stay in the Michael Apartment. I consider staying here a “God” thing since my husband had called the day before we actually reserved the apartment. But he was tired and ended up calling the next morning. At that time the only vacancy was “Michael” and we were able to make a reservation here.
This home enabled us to stay in Rochester with our children, eight-year old twins, and Grandma too. This apartment/house was a God-send in many ways. It was the perfect place to recover from my stem cell transplant.
We are so grateful to you, the caretakers of this home.
Thank you again!

Lottie Apt. 2016: Lodging in a serene neighborhood for a Mayo patient and family
Thank you very much for providing this cozy home for us while Jane received treatment at Mayo. It was a very challenging time for us and having a home to return to in this green and serene neighborhood was a gift.
Baptist Hospitality House 2016: Retreat-like housing for a cancer patient and family
We were at Mayo Clinic for two months total. The first month was spent in an apartment downtown. Our second month was spent here at the Baptist Hospitality House. And what a difference that made. Serenity House Network was all booked up for our first month but thank God we were able to spend our second month here. We’re not sure we would have made it through without this home.
As treatment for Jim’s cancer got tougher and tougher, we needed a place of quiet and solitude to retreat to. And this place was sunny, warm and welcoming and just like home. We loved everything about this house and everyone who visited us was amazed at the wonderful accommodations we had. They were also amazed by the story of Serenity House Network.
We are truly blessed to have had this available to us in a time of great need. This home is a true testament to the love and care of Greg and Jodie and all of you who make these homes available through Serenity House Network. What you do for those of us who visit Mayo is truly inspirational.
Thank you for everything. And God bless you and your mission.
Mae Apt. 2016: A bone marrow transplant’s extended-stay experience
As the days get closer when we can leave to go back home, my thoughts turn to what a blessing this apartment was to us. It was a home away from home to go to, rest in, cook in, feel safe in, and catch up in with family and friends. It was an address to get cards from those faithful friends who always remember when encouragement is needed.
Having a bone marrow transplant is a journey and each day presents new challenges and successes. Each day had its hurdles to jump and mountains to climb. This space gave each of us a place to sleep, cry, pray or just be with the Lord in Scripture and meditation. Thank you for that! This was the single most thing that gave me (the patient) grounding to do what each day demanded!
God bless you for your contribution to the Mayo Clinic wonderful experience!
Quincy Apt. 2016: The Standish Family’s home away from home
This has been a wonderful home away from our home in Indiana! The kindness shown by the Serenity House Network for my daughter and I was wonderful. We thank you so much for this service you provide to families that travel here for Mayo Clinic!
Sierra Apt. 2016: A Mayo patient & family’s short-term housing experience
Our family had a wonderful experience while here and God has truly blessed our time and efforts here while at Mayo and while we were in this place. We appreciate so very much the attention to detail and towards our comfort. The entire experience was outstanding! Thank you Serenity House Network! Sincerely,
City View Sanctuary 2016: A 100-day extended stay for a stem cell transplant patient
We are so grateful to have been a part of the Serenity House Network. Our stay at City View Sanctuary started March 13, after a short stay in another SHN property. Being so close to the Clinic was wonderful in preparation for Bob’s stem cell transplant and then follow up care.
We quickly felt at home and have enjoyed our time here. Greg and Jodie have done everything they can to make our stay here so comfortable, and we are so appreciative. Being away from our home for over 100 days was made more bearable because of them.
Blessings to you as you continue this very valuable ministry. You have touched more lives than you will ever know. We are forever grateful to all of you for your many acts of kindness. You made a difference in our lives.
(p.s. Special thanks to June Ann!!)
May God bless you all,
