Sunny Place Cottage Julianna Apt: Bauers Jiminez Family
Thank you for some normalcy in the midst of all this chaos! How nice and comforting to be able to leave the Clinic behind each day and ground ourselves in “home”, rest, rejuvenate, recap and start again. Nobody wants to find themselves hundreds of miles from home, swirled in the confusion of the medical what-if’s and what-will-comes. SHN Julianna has offered the peace and comfort, friendship and love that has eased this process considerably.
Thank you,
White River House Priscilla Apt: Sauer Family
We have so enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to stay here instead of a hotel. Such a cozy respite at the end of a long day at the Clinic. Thank you for sharing your home with us. God Bless you,
Serenity House Brigid Apt: Harris Family
Dear Greg and Jodie,
I can’t begin to express what a blessing both of you and Serenity House Network have been to Shelby and me! Your cozy home met all of our physical needs perfectly, but it was the 2 of you and your wonderful network of volunteers who filled every emotional and spiritual need at just the perfect moment!
I prayed fervently about our trip to the adolescent PRC program – not only that God would bless Shelby with hope and healing but that He would bless us both through relationships acquired here and that we could be a blessing to others as well. We consider the 2 of you to be an answer to that prayer!
We leave this amazing (and cold!) town with HOPE for a bright future for Shelby and with dear friends. The intensity of our time here allows relationships that might take years to develop in the “normal” world to develop at warp speed. As a result, we’ve gained many life-long friends here and the 2 of you are at the top of that list.
Jodie, thank you for your wise counsel!
Greg, thank you for your words of encouragement and snow-shoveling skills! Don’t forget to MODERATE!
With much love,
Evy’s House: Kraemer Family
Our story starts back on Christmas Eve 2011 when we received a call telling us my husband, then 52, had Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. We were in disbelief and wanted to seek a second opinion which brought us to Rochester. My husband underwent the testing and treatment and began the 3-month check-ups.
In June 2013 the lymphoma was back with a vengeance causing paralysis on the right side of his body putting him in a wheelchair. We traveled every other week from Wisconsin for his treatments for 4 months. He was a good candidate for a stem cell transplant which brought us to Serenity House Network.
It was a true Godsend the day I found Serenity House Network on a Google search. I emailed them and Greg returned my call right away. He informed me they had a home coming into the network and it was handicapped-accessible and would be available on the day our transplant was scheduled!
Evy’s House has been our home-away-from-home. Every day we would travel back and forth to the Clinic and know home was a short distance away.
My husband was fortunate to go through the transplant with no problems. He continued his physical therapy and made sure he kept up his strength. He is not out of the woods with the paralysis but he will continue his therapy to regain what the cancer took away from him. We pray that in 2014 and the years to come he remains cancer-free.
Hold tight to your faith, family and friends.
God Bless and many prayers for all who struggle with this illness or any other!
Serenity House Patrick Apt: Stone Family
Greg and Jodie,
Thank you so much for your hospitality. Our three months here has gone so quickly. It has meant so much to us to have the Patrick apartment to come home to and relax during the stem cell transplant. We know all went so well because of the comfortable and relaxing place to come home to.
We thank God that you have made this available to Mayo patients!

We cannot thank you enough, SHN and SHN volunteers. What a difference being here made for us compared to our last stay in a different apartment and hotel. This gave us PEACE and SERENITY exactly as promised. There are no words to express our gratitude.
Holly’s House Erin Apt: Bateman Family
Dear Jodie and Greg,
Our stay in Rochester Minnesota ended up being longer than we anticipated. The longer we stayed the more grateful we were to be in the Erin apartment. While Arnold was in the hospital the apartment provided a comfortable place for Terry and family members who were visiting to get some much needed rest and a place to relax a little.
After Arnold returned home from his long hospital stay the apartment provided a very comfortable environment for him as he continued to recover.
Having the apartment completely furnished made the transition from our home in Utah to the apartment much easier.
We are very appreciative of the friendliness and kindness shown us by Jodie and Greg.
We have recommended the Serenity House Network apartments to both patients and staff at the Mayo Clinic and will continue to do so.
Thank you for being so supportive and for providing such a nice apartment for us to live in.

September 2013
We stayed in both the White River House and the Red River House and both places have been lovely. Serenity House Network has been a wonderful resource for us and we are forever grateful that the Binkley’s have opened up their homes to us!
We came here desperate for answers, and the house and the river have been a great escape from all the hectic medical/hospital situations we’ve been dealing with this year. Where we live in New Jersey is very rural so being able to sit by the river after a long day at the Clinic made us feel a little closer to home.
Thank you for everything!

September 6-September 14, 2013 We were so very thankful to Serenity House Network for being able to accommodate us. It was so nice to have a “home” to come to at the end of the day. Thank you so very much. Bless you and all the helpful hands at Serenity House Network.

August 5-September 6, 2013 It was great to be able to have our family with us here and to be able to have some “normalcy” while living in Rochester for 5 weeks of treatment. It was also nice to get out of the downtown area and come “home”. Thank you for this “home away from home”.
