After spending two months in the hospital with my daughter, we went to a Serenity House Network home. It was a wonderful reprieve from all that had been going on with our daughter. We could return to Evy’s House from Mayo and it made us feel like we were normal again. We had a place to come home to each day and for a while we could forget all the medical stuff going on in our lives. There are no words of thanks to express to the SHN owners for reaching out to strangers from other places and giving us a home away from home. May God Bless you for your kindness and thoughtfulness to help strangers feel more at home.

Rochester is a friendly town and it is obvious everyone works together to make it a beautiful place to live.

We stayed at Serenity House Network as a family with a 4 year old. The feel of home away from home was so amazing and relaxing. Even caregivers loved it. The James apartment and SHN staff were phenomenal. It was a very comfortable place to heal. Support from SHN helped the recovery.

The Serenity House Network has been a blessing! I was originally told that I would be in the hospital for six weeks. After getting checked in at Mayo, I found out that I only needed to be in the hospital for my chemo treatments. I still had to stay in Rochester during the six weeks of treatment. I was informed of SHN through Mayo Clinic.

Thank you Greg and Serenity House Network staff for your kindness and prayers. SHN is a wonderful “home away from home”. The apartment was very clean and very “home like”. Staying here has helped me heal mentally and physically. The bread and birthday cake were a nice added touch. I can’t thank you enough!

Baptist Hospitality House was our first Serenity House Network home for nearly three months.

My husband was at deaths door on September 9th, 2017. I had him transferred to the Mayo Clinic here in Rochester. By a miracle of God he received his liver transplant on September 18th, 2017. I stayed in hotels until October when I found the Serenity House Network on the Mayo website. I prayed that they had a place I could call home. Our children were missing us and the SHN home allowed them to come stay with us for more than one visit.

My husband was inpatient for several months. When he was finally released, the comfort of BHH allowed him to get stronger. We needed to stay longer than we originally planned. We were blessed to transfer to the SHN Scott apartment for my husband to continue his recovery. At the Scott apartment we received the good news on his biopsy that allows us to go home now.

Thank you SHN for having homes for people like us to call a “home away from home”. I’d especially like to thank Greg for being who he is as well as June Ann. A special thank you to Rebecca for checking on me from time to time. May God Bless you all for everything that you do and the comfort and stress-free atmosphere these homes provide.

After our four month stay in Rochester, it is finally time to go home to North Dakota. My stem cell transplant was a success and I will go home cancer free thanks to my sister (donor), the doctor’s and staff at Mayo, and most of all our Savior for answering our prayers.

Thank you so much for letting us stay here at Serenity House Network. It was indeed our home away from home. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else for such a long time. I can’t wait to get home to the farm.
