My son and I checked in with Serenity House Network July 7th and our departure is today. Actually a few days early as Wes’s recovery is going quite well. Wes had a double lung transplant on May 16th.

We had stayed somewhere else when we came to town until SHN had an opening on July 7th. The accommodations have been outstanding. The staff (June Ann & Traci) are so kind. This location was great with great access to and from Wes’s appointments, restaurants and anywhere else in town. We were very grateful when we needed to extend our stay. The staff at SHN were just outstanding and the apartment was comfortable. We really appreciated the two TV’s. It worked out perfect for us.

We will certainly share with others who are in need of lodging in Rochester. SHN is the place to stay.

We spent the better part of six weeks here while undergoing radiation. We enjoyed our stay here at the Brigid apartment. The house is in great proximity to Mayo making it easy to travel to. Everything we needed for the apartment was provided. Our time here was relaxing. All of this made treatment fly by. We enjoyed getting to know Greg. He was kind, personable and gave us space. He’s an excellent host! Thank you for your hospitality.

We stayed at Quincy for the second of my husbands tandem stem cell transplant for relapsed testicular cancer. Serenity House Network was recommended by the transplant doctor and we are forever grateful to him. The SHN folks are so kind and caring. Both the houses we stayed at were so clean, comfortable and convenient. There is no doubt that SHN helped us make it through this extremely difficult period with their “helping hands and healing homes”. Words seem inadequate. Thank you for all you do!!

It has been a long arduous journey. Brian was admitted to our local hospital on December 2, 2021 for a hip replacement. He spent the next 4 1/2 months in the hospital or nursing home- except for 9 days over Christmas. He came to Rochester the end of March, and was immediately admitted to Mayo’s St. Mary’s campus with end stage heart failure.

By the power of countless prayers and Gods grace he received the gift of life in the form of a new heart on April 13th. He spent another 2 months in the hospital recovering.

On June 16, after 7 1/2 months in hospitals and nursing homes, Brian was discharged.

We were required to stay in Rochester for at least another 30 days- which is what brought us to Serenity House Network’s Annie’s house in the Doris apartment. What a welcome change from where we had been staying! It has been so nice to have an apartment that feels like being home. Doris has been perfect for us. Nicely finished, clean and comfortable with room to move around! It is conveniently located, making trips to Mayo Clinic for follow up care and testing hassle free. Having a garage, and a washer and dryer in the building was a wonderful bonus. Greg and all the staff have been so friendly and helpful. They truly are heaven sent. Our house mother, Diane, was so thoughtful to welcome us with a loaf of cinnamon chip bread and then a pie to celebrate Brian’s birthday.

We have finally been given the okay to head home. Our stay is in no way unique, and we know we have had a much easier rode than many. We are forever grateful to the staff of Mayo Clinic and to SHN for making our journey smoother. God bless you all! God bless our donor and their family and all who come to stay here.

My stay here was wonderful. The house was perfect. A very short drive to the clinic. What a lucky find as this is a great place to stay during an extended treatment program at Mayo Clinic.

Greg was very friendly and easy to deal with. No issues with the house while I was here. I enjoyed the bike paths in the area. The town is easy to figure out for anything you might need. My stay was comfortable. So glad to have been able to stay with Serenity House Network’s Holly House. Thank you Greg and staff.

Brett and I have been here at the Cliffy apartment for 30 days while he was undergoing radiation.

Having this apartment has been such a blessing. We could not have asked for a better home away from home!

The First of a tandem stem cell transplant for relapsed testicular cancer brought my husband to Mayo Clinic. We are so grateful for Serenity House Networks Dottie’s Place as a sanctuary during this arduous process. SHN’s motto of “helping hands, healing homes” is perfect and much needed. Thank you!

We stayed with Serenity House Network from 6/5 to 7/7. My husband has pancreatic cancer and he had surgery at the Methodist campus of Mayo Clinic. We needed a quiet, comfortable, and safe place to call our 2nd home during our stay in Rochester. We hit the jackpot with SHN’s Julianna apartment and SHN staff. It fit our every need! It is a short drive to all of Mayo’s facilities. Rochester has all the amenities we needed and it is extremely easy to navigate the town.

Thank you for allowing us to stay in this wonderful house. The proximity to Mayo is awesome. For a month we had daily (sometimes several) trips to the clinic and hospital. Having the park so close encouraged us to get outside and walk. Great location for restaurants too. Brent was amazing for service. He’s always on top of it. Good luck with the garden!

When unexpected health problems brought us to the Mayo Clinic, there were so many details of concern, including lodging. When I was researching housing options in the area, I teared up when I found Serenity House Network! I finally realized there was a Christian alternative to all the lodging I had found. We also were coming with an active teenage daughter so the yard made such a difference in our stay! Thank you for all your care and attention to details during our stay, including the birthday dessert!
