Land Between the Lakes offers an abundance of things to do including fishing, kayaking, hiking, biking, and so much more. To help kick off your adventures, here is a list of our favorite things to do at the Land Between the Lakes.
Visit Patti’s Settlement
Located in the heart of Grand Rivers, Patti’s Settlement is the perfect place for shopping and dining. The recreated historical log cabin settlement has plenty to offer aside from their famous pork chops! You will find many shops, miniature golf, beautiful gardens, and more. Come see why Patti’s is a beloved destination at Land Between the Lakes.
Canoe or kayak
Cool off this summer with a visit to the Land Between the Lakes! One of the best ways to explore the area’s scenic landscape and wildlife is by kayaking or canoeing its many water trails. There are designated trails, all with easy access points for kayaks and canoes to enter the water. Great places to start include Ginger Bay, Honker Bay, and Fulton Bay.
Hiking and biking
The Land Between the Lakes area is known for its hiking and biking with miles of trails to choose from, from short and paved trails to long mountain bike trails. Find a variety of scenic trails filled with wildlife, wildflowers, nature, and history with hiking and biking at Land Between the Lakes.
Wildlife viewing
Throughout the 170,000 acres of land between Kentucky and Barkley lakes, there is a wide variety of wildlife. Keep your eye out for bald eagles, deer, and bison. The protected undeveloped forest features diverse wetlands with 300 miles of shoreline and forested areas, an ideal natural habitat for wildlife viewing. Grab your camera and binoculars and keep your eye out!
Fishing
Fishing is a popular year-round activity at Land Between the Lakes. Catch a variety of freshwater fish including, bass, slab crappie, catfish, bluegill, white bass, and sauger. Renowned for its largemouth and smallmouth bass and crappie fishing, Kentucky Lake is also home to other species including white and yellow bass, sauger, catfish, bluegill, and redear sunfish. Plus, record catches of largemouth and small-mouth bass can be caught right here at Kentucky Lake!

With beautiful colors of reds, oranges, and yellows cast across the sky and the glass-like waters of Kentucky Lake set against the foreground, you can’t get more picturesque than this.
